Bank of Baroda Financial Literacy Counsellor Recruitment 2025: Apply by 16th May

Overview of the Recruitment

Eligibility Criteria

Qualification: Candidates must hold a graduate degree from a recognized university. Preference will be given to those with postgraduate degrees in Agriculture, Veterinary Science, Sociology, Psychology, or Social Work. Candidates should be fluent in the local language, have a flair for teaching, and possess basic computer knowledge.

Experience: Applicants should meet one of the following experience criteria:

  • Ex-bankers (Officer cadre) with at least 5 years of experience in a Nationalized Bank, Regional Rural Bank (RRB), or Private Bank.
  • Business Correspondent/BC Coordinator with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Ex-RSETI Director with at least 3 years of experience or Faculty with 5 years of experience.
  • Persons with a minimum of 5 years of experience in banking, related fields, NBFCs, or Financial Institutions.

Age Limit: The maximum age at the time of application should not exceed 64 years, subject to good health.

Residency: Candidates should preferably be residents of Kheda District, Gujarat.

Remuneration and Allowances

Monthly Remuneration: The selected candidate will receive a consolidated monthly remuneration of Rs. 18,000, plus up to Rs. 5,000 for conveyance expenses (total Rs. 23,000). Conveyance reimbursement depends on the number of camps conducted:

  • Rs. 3,000 for less than 10 camps per month.
  • Rs. 5,000 for 10 or more camps per month.

Halting/Travelling Allowance:

  • Rs. 300 for more than 8 hours without night stay.
  • Rs. 600 with night stay.
  • Travel expenses for training programs outside the headquarters will align with the eligibility criteria for a JMG/S-1 officer.

Key Responsibilities

The Financial Literacy Counsellor will be responsible for managing the Nadiad FLC and adhering to RBI guidelines. Key duties include:

  • Providing free financial counseling and debt management services, except to willful defaulters.
  • Conducting financial literacy camps on digital banking and government schemes like PMJDY, APY, PMSBY, and PMJBY.
  • Maintaining an arm’s length relationship with the bank and not promoting bank products.
  • Organizing gram sabhas and awareness camps in rural areas.
  • Submitting quarterly visit schedules and monthly visit diaries to the Lead District Manager (LDM).
  • Assisting distressed borrowers and ensuring no miss-selling of financial products.

Selection Process: Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by a panel comprising the Bank’s LDM, DDM of NABARD, an SC/ST representative, and the Regional Manager. The Zonal Head will make the final selection decision.

Terms of Appointment

Contract Duration: The engagement is for one year, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and approval from the Zonal Office.

Termination: Either party can terminate the contract with notice—3 months from the counsellor and 1 month from the bank.
