Eligibility Criteria
Essential Qualifications:
- Educational Qualification: First Class Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Information Technology, or Electronics.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a reputed industry/organization related to the power sector.
- Other Requirements:
- Candidate must be a domicile of Tripura and furnish a Permanent Resident of Tripura Certificate (PRTC).
- Knowledge of Bengali or Kokborok.
- Age Limit: Up to 40 years as on 22 May 2025; relaxable by:
- 5 years for ST/SC/PH candidates.
- 2 years for all categories (per GA(P&T) Deptt. Memo dated 11 July 2022).

Job Responsibilities
The Manager (IT) will be responsible for:
- Maintaining and extending the centralized IT-enabled (Data Centre-based) billing system for daily operations across Tripura.
- Rolling out smart metering, pre-paid metering, and ERP systems within TSECL.
- Operating and maintaining the Smart Grid pilot system, including its expansion.
- Developing and maintaining IT-enabled consumer services, including Central Customer Care, online payments, SMS bill notifications, websites, and mobile apps.
- Overseeing technology operations (e.g., network security) and aligning them with TSECL’s goals.
- Establishing IT policies and systems to support TSECL’s strategic objectives.
- Analyzing departmental business requirements to determine technology needs.
- Procuring cost-effective technological equipment and software.
- Inspecting technological equipment/software for functionality and efficiency.
- Identifying needs for system upgrades, configurations, or new systems and reporting to TSECL management.
- Developing IT systems to enhance synergy and efficiency across TSECL’s wings.
- Handling any additional IT-related activities for existing and upcoming TSECL IT infrastructure.

Service Conditions
Key Details:
- Nature of Appointment: Contractual for 11 months, extendable by mutual consent.
- Reporting: The Manager (IT) will act as a Staff Manager, reporting to the AGM (DP&C) Project Manager (IT).
- Posting: Liable to serve anywhere in Tripura within TSECL’s operational areas.
- Termination: Either party can terminate the contract with 30 days’ notice or one month’s salary.
- Pension: No pension from the Government of Tripura or TSECL.
- Service Rules: As applicable to Tripura State Civil Service Officers of equivalent grade; deputation candidates will follow their original employment conditions.
