Airports Authority of India (AAI), a Schedule-A Miniratna Category-1 Public Sector Enterprise, has released a notification (ADVT. NO. 05/2025/APPRENTICE/GRADUATE/DIPLOMA/ITI/ER) for the engagement of Graduate, Diploma, and ITI Apprentices for the year 2025-26 in the Eastern Region. AAI, formed on April 1, 1995, by merging the National Airports Authority and International Airports Authority of India, manages civil aviation infrastructure across India. This apprenticeship program, governed by the Apprentices Act, 1961 (as amended), offers training opportunities at various airports and the Regional Headquarters (RHQ) in the Eastern Region. AAI is offering a total of 135 apprenticeship positions across Graduate, Diploma, and ITI categories in the Eastern Region. The details are as follows:

Candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria as of March 31, 2025:
- Nationality: Only Indian Nationals from the Eastern Region (West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Sikkim, and Andaman Nicobar) are eligible.
- Educational Qualification:
- Graduate & Diploma: Full-time (regular) four-year degree or three-year diploma in Engineering in relevant streams, recognized by AICTE, Government of India, passed in 2023 or later.
- ITI Trade: ITI/NCVT certificate in Computer Operator & Programming Assistant, Electrical, Mechanic, or Electronics from institutes recognized by AICTE, Government of India, passed in 2023 or later.
- Age Limit: Maximum 26 years, with relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PWBD categories as per Government of India guidelines.
- Ineligibility:
- Candidates who have completed or terminated their apprenticeship, are pursuing apprenticeship elsewhere, or have apprenticeship/job experience of one year or more after attaining essential qualifications are not eligible.
The apprenticeship training details are:
- Duration: 12 months from the commencement of the apprenticeship contract.
- Monthly Stipend:
- Graduate Apprentices: Rs.15,000/-
- Diploma Apprentices: Rs.12,000/-
- ITI Apprentices: As per Apprentices Act, 1961.
The selection process involves the following steps:
- Provisional Selection: Based on the percentage of marks in the qualifying examination. In case of equal marks, seniority is determined by date of birth and date of passing.
- CGPA Conversion: CGPA must be converted to percentage as per the norms of the concerned Educational Board/University.
- Document Verification: Eligible candidates will be called for document verification via registered email IDs, requiring original documents, self-attested copies, and soft copies.
- Medical Fitness: Final selection requires a medical fitness certificate from a Government Medical Officer or Medical Officer of a Government Undertaking.
- Engagement: Selected candidates will receive an apprentice engagement letter after document verification and medical fitness confirmation.
- Note: Attending document verification or medical examination does not guarantee selection.
Reservation policies are as per the Apprentices Act, 1961, and Apprenticeship Rules, 1992 (amended):
- Reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC) must provide valid caste certificates in the prescribed Central Government format, issued by a Competent Authority, valid on the date of verification.
- OBC candidates must submit a Non-Creamy Layer certificate explicitly stating non-belonging to the Creamy Layer, valid on the verification date.
- If SC/ST candidates are unavailable, reserved seats will be filled by ST/SC candidates, respectively. If still unfilled, seats will be allocated to non-SC/ST candidates from the merit list.
- Unfilled OBC seats will be filled by non-OBC candidates from the merit list.
Candidates must follow these steps to apply by May 31, 2025:

- ITI Trade: https://www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in (NAPS portal).
- Application: Apply through the portal by searching for the establishment “Airports Authority of India - RHQ ER, Kolkata (EWBPNC000015)” and clicking the apply button. A confirmation message will appear upon successful application.
- Documents Required for Enrollment:
- University Registration/Roll/Enroll Number.
- Final Degree/Diploma Certificate or Consolidated Marksheet (PDF, <1MB).
- College/University Name, Percentage/CGPA, Branch, Month/Year of Passing.
- Aadhar Card Number, Bank Details, Valid Email ID, Mobile Number.
- Passport-size photograph (JPEG, <1MB).
- Note: Applications via other modes will not be entertained. Candidates must ensure profile verification by the respective regional board.
Important: No TA/DA, accommodation, or food will be provided during the engagement process. The candidature is provisional, subject to verification of all documents and medical fitness.
Steps to enroll and apply on the NATS/NAPS portal:
- Enrollment on NATS Portal:
- Visit https://nats.education.gov.in and click “Enroll.”
- Complete eligibility check, verify email and mobile with OTP, and fill personal, educational, and training preference details.
- Upload required documents, agree to terms, and submit. Print enrollment details for reference.
- Enrollment on NAPS Portal:
- Visit https://www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in, click “Register,” and select “Candidate.”
- Fill basic, family, and contact details, verify email with activation link, and log in to complete the profile with personal and educational details.
- Applying for AAI Apprenticeship:
- Log in to the respective portal, go to “Establishment Requests,” and select “Find Establishment.”
- Search for “Airports Authority of India” with Course Type as Designated and Course as COPA or Stenographer.
- Click “Apply” to submit the application.
Apprentices have the following obligations:
- Learn diligently in their subject field, attend classes regularly, follow lawful orders, and maintain a weekly countersigned Work Diary.
- Undergo quarterly assessments and an online skill assessment test at the end of training. Certificates are awarded only upon completion of all assessments.
Contract details are as follows:
- Registration: Selected apprentices must sign and accept the apprenticeship contract on the NATS portal immediately after joining AAI.
- Termination: The contract ceases automatically after 12 months. Indiscipline may lead to contract cancellation and discontinuation of training.
Key instructions for candidates:
- AAI has no obligation to provide regular employment post-apprenticeship.
- Management’s decision on eligibility, selection, or cancellation is final. No correspondence will be entertained for non-selection.
- Candidates must provide valid Aadhar Card, mark sheets, proof of date of birth, NATS enrollment proof, caste certificate, and Non-Creamy Layer certificate (if applicable) during verification.
- Date of birth is taken from Class X/XII mark sheets or certificates only.
