DGFT Restricts Import of Certain Goods from Bangladesh via Land Ports, Allows Only Through Select Seaports

On May 17, 2025, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, issued a notification imposing port restrictions on the import of specific goods from Bangladesh to India. Limited Land Port Access

Several goods, including fruit/flavored and carbonated drinksprocessed food itemscotton and cotton yarn wasteplastic and PVC finished goods (except pigments, dyes, plasticizers, and granules), and wooden furniture, are barred from import through Land Customs Stations (LCSs) or Integrated Check Posts (ICPs) in AssamMeghalayaTripuraMizoram, and specific LCSs in West Bengal, namely Changrabandha and Fulbari.
